03/14/2025, 07:27The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed key issues of trade and economic interaction at the fourth meeting of the joint working group. The meeting was held on March 13 at the EEC headquarters under the co-chairmanship of EEC Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics Eldar Alisherov and Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabaev.
Eldar Alisherov noted that Uzbekistan is the largest trade partner of the EAEU among the CIS countries, providing almost half of the Union's trade turnover in the region. In turn, Khurram Teshabaev emphasized the significance of the platforms created within the EAEU for business cooperation and implementation of large-scale investment projects.
At the meeting they discussed the development of digital solutions in the transport sector, optimization of logistics routes, as well as exchange of data on international transportation. They paid special attention to the Eurasian Agro Express project, which will improve the supply of agricultural products between the EAEU and Uzbekistan.
The parties also agreed to work on mutual recognition of medicine labeling between the EAEU and Uzbekistan, hold consultations on the creation of a unified customs transit system and organize a business dialogue in April 2025 with the participation of entrepreneurs from the EAEU and Uzbekistan.
The next, fifth meeting of the joint working group will be held in 2026 in Uzbekistan.
