04/24/2025, 14:16Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan are intensifying economic cooperation: on April 23, Kyrgyz Ambassador Avazbek Atakhanov met with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Investment Geyser Ahmed Sheikh. The main topic was investments and launch of joint projects.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation and emphasized that geographical proximity - less than 400 km between the borders of the countries - opens up prospects for logistics routes. In particular, Kyrgyzstan could become a transit corridor between Eurasia and the port of Karachi through the Chinese Kashgar.
Avazbek Atakhanov noted that Kyrgyzstan aims to create a favorable environment for foreign investors. The country is strengthening the protection of private property and business rights and is open to cross-border projects.
For his part, Pakistani Minister Geyser Ahmed Sheikh expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission will give a new impetus to the investment dialog between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a Kyrgyz-Pakistani investment forum in Karachi in the near future. The event is expected to become a platform for negotiations between businesses of the two countries and attract investors' attention to new areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Atakhanov invited the Pakistani delegation to pay a working visit to Kyrgyzstan to discuss potential projects and areas for capital on the spot.
