In September, gold exports were carried out only to Great Britain, for the month they purchased almost 3 tons of gold, and brought the volume purchased since the beginning of the year to 8.5 tons worth $606.1 million, thus becoming the main connoisseur of the precious metal mined in Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, China since the beginning of the year purchased 1.8 tons of gold worth $129.4 million, Switzerland - 971.5 kilograms worth $63.5 million. The volume of supplies to the United Arab Emirates in August amounted to 13.5 kilograms worth $881 thousand.
Recall that until 2021, the UK was the main buyer of Kyrgyz gold. But after the dispute over the Kumtor mine between Canada's Centerra and Kyrgyzstan, as a result of which the mine was transferred to the republic, supplies of precious metal were stopped. This was also because Kyrgyzstan was deprived of its status as a reliable supplier for a period of time. In 2022, the country regained its Good Delivery status and resumed gold shipments abroad, but trade relations with the UK for the precious metal were lost.
