Kyrgyzstan will temporarily close two border crossings with China

The Torugart-Avtodorozhny and Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border will be temporarily closed on May 1, 2025. This was reported by the Information and Communications Department of the State Border Service of the State Committee for National Security.

The restriction was initiated by the Chinese side in connection with the celebration of Labor Day in the PRC. The passage of people, transport, and cargo through both checkpoints will resume on May 2.

The Border Service recommends that participants in foreign economic activity and passengers take this information into account when planning their routes.
