    WWII veterans to receive 100,000 som each

    By decision of President Sadyr Zhaparov, every World War II veteran in Kyrgyzstan will receive a one-time financial assistance payment of 100,000 soms.

    The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, signed a decree on one-time financial assistance for veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

    The decision was made in recognition of the global historical significance of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, as well as the 80th anniversary of the victory. 

    As of April 1, 2024, there are 32 veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Kyrgyzstan.

    According to the decree, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic's Fund is instructed to allocate 3 million 232 thousand soms for the payment of one-time financial assistance in the amount of 100 thousand soms to the following categories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War:

    • disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War;
    • participants in the Great Patriotic War;
       
    • minors who were prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of forced detention created by the Nazis and their allies during World War II;
    • persons who worked at enterprises, institutions, and organizations in the city of Leningrad during the blockade from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944, and were awarded the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad,” and persons awarded the “Resident of Blockaded Leningrad” badge.
       
    • 1941 to January 27, 1944, who were awarded the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad,” and persons awarded the badge “Resident of Blockaded Leningrad.”
