    Kyrgyzstan simplifies visa regime for tourists and business travellers

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced changes to the visa processing procedure. The new rules come into force from 22 January 2025 and provide for the possibility of processing electronic visas in an accelerated mode - up to 24 hours if an urgent tariff is selected.

    A new visa category ‘Sapar visa (type “J”)’ is introduced for foreign citizens planning business trips, tourist visits, as well as visits to friends, medical examinations and other private purposes. The Sapar visa will allow to stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 90 days with the possibility of single or multiple entry/exit. At the same time, the previously applied visa categories ‘business’, ‘tourist’ and ‘mountain tourism’ will be abolished.

    All innovations will be available on the e-visa portal from 22 January 2025. This decision marks an important step in the development of Kyrgyzstan's tourism industry, making the visa application process faster and more convenient for foreign visitors, as well as helping to attract business partners to the country.
