    Kyrgyzstan proposed to the SCO to create its own development bank

    Kyrgyzstan has called for the establishment of a SCO Development Bank as a pivotal tool for financing joint projects amidst global trade and economic shifts. 

    This announcement was made on April 10, 2025, in Tianjin, China, during the 9th Meeting of the Special Working Group on Investment Promotion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. Participating in the meeting was Beketai Mukhtar, an expert from the Trade Mission under the Ministry of Economic Commerce of Kyrgyzstan in China. 

    In his address, he informed colleagues about the progress of the Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Program of SCO countries and articulated Kyrgyzstan's stance on several priority areas. During the event, participants discussed enhancing the investment climate, strengthening cooperation in sustainable development, and transitioning to settlements in national currencies as a vital step towards boosting the economic sovereignty of member states.
