02/25/2025, 09:43As part of his working visit to Moscow, Kyrgyz Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Ravshanbek Sabirov held a number of meetings dedicated to the legalization of Kyrgyz migrants, improvement of their working conditions and social protection.
Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Ravshanbek Sabirov met with Valentina Kazakova, Head of the Main Department for Migration Issues of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the conversation Valentina Kazakova told about the ongoing work of the Russian side on the legalization of Kyrgyz citizens staying in Russia in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin from December 30, 2024.
Ravshanbek Sabirov, in turn, outlined a number of problematic issues arising in the settlement of the legal status of Kyrgyz citizens. He also expressed concern about the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation “On conducting an experiment to test the rules and conditions of entry and exit from the Russian Federation”, according to which foreign citizens must notify the purpose of their entry and stay in Russia 72 hours before arrival.
The Russian side gave detailed answers to all the questions raised by the Kyrgyz delegation. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work on informing Kyrgyz citizens about the settlement of legal status in the Russian Federation until April 30, 2025.
During his visit to Moscow, Ravshanbek Sabirov also held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.
The meeting covered a wide range of issues, including labor rationing and safety, improvement of social protection, improvement of working conditions within the framework of international cooperation, issues of qualification system, digitalization of labor relations and other important aspects.
“The sphere of labor and social protection is complex and multifaceted, but at the same time it is designed, first of all, to help ordinary workers, on whom the state rests. The basis of any human activity is labor, and I am sure that labor and social protection play a key role in ensuring the sustainable development of society and improving the quality of life of citizens,” the minister said, speaking to his Russian colleagues.
In addition, Sabirov met with representatives of Kyrgyz diasporas in Moscow and Moscow region. During the meeting, the minister stressed the need for Kyrgyz people who are in Russia without the appropriate documents to undergo the legalization process by April 30.
Ravshanbek Sabirov also spoke about the Ministry's work on diversification of the external labor market and measures aimed at reintegration of returning migrants to Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister answered questions from the participants and presented service certificates to the Ministry's public representatives who protect the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Russia. Their task is to provide assistance to labor migrants, counsel, help adapt and support compatriots who find themselves in difficult life situations.
