    The volume of currency transactions at the interbank trades has not exceeded $20 mln

    At interbank trades last week, from April 21 to April 25, commercial banks bought $20.4 million worth of foreign currency. The trades showed moderate activity and strengthening of the dollar.

    On the background of stable demand, the exchange rate of the U.S. currency increased by 0.7 KGS, from 86.75 to 87.45 KGS.

    The total volume of transactions with settlements on the date of conclusion amounted to $10.8 million, while the volume of transactions with settlements on other dates reached $9.6 million.

    The most active day of the week was April 21, when the total volume of trades amounted to $11 million, which caused initial pressure on the exchange rate.

    Thus, on April 21, the dollar at the interbank strengthened from 86.75 to 86.8 KGS. The next day, Tuesday, the growth of the rate continued, reaching the mark of 86.995 KGS, with the volume of transactions amounted to about $5 million.

    In the middle of the week, April 23, the dollar strengthened at 87.3 KGS with moderate volumes of $3 million. The rate continued to grow the next day, April 24, to 87. 45 KGS, although trading activity slightly decreased to $1.3 mln.

    Closing the week, April 25, the market showed minimal activity - one deal for $100 thousand was recorded, the rate remained stable at 87.45 KGS.
