04/23/2025, 09:00The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has approved an updated program for developing interstate standards to support the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union for natural combustible gas prepared for transportation and/or use.
The initiative to update the program was driven by the Russian Federation and considers the progress of the current program, which is currently 78% complete.
Out of the 17 planned projects in the existing program, 13 GOST standards have been developed (two in 2021, five in 2022, five in 2023, and one anticipated in 2024).
The program has been enhanced to include amendments to an existing GOST standard, necessitated by findings from the analysis of the standard's implementation practices, and to develop a new GOST standard. The new standard will determine the component composition of liquefied natural gas using gas chromatography.
Thus, the revised program sets forth the development of two new GOST standards, while two existing ones will be revised by Russia as the appointed developer.
