03/19/2025, 10:58The Border Guard Service of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that border guards, together with officers of the territorial subdivisions of the State National Security Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Batken oblast, stopped a smuggled cargo worth KGS 2 million.
In the village of Arka-2, the border guard detected a Hyundai Porter vehicle that had entered Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan. Having stopped near the house of a Kyrgyz citizen, the driver unloaded the cargo there.
During a search of the house, conducted jointly with POM officers, the smuggled cargo - 994 kilograms of copper and 1,419 kilograms of used microchips - was found.
The approximate value of the smuggled cargo was about 2 million KGS.
The owner of the house - a citizen of Kyrgyzstan U.M., born in 1987, was detained and together with the smuggled cargo was handed over to the officers of Leilek ROVD for further investigation.
