However, for the second year in a row, negative dynamics has been observed: in 2023, production decreased by 0.7% to 2022; in 2024, the decline continued, but on a smaller scale - by 0.3%.
The industry showed the biggest rebound in 2022, when it grew by 10.4%. Nevertheless, despite the overall decline, the situation within the sector is heterogeneous: grain production decreased, while milk and chicken eggs, on the contrary, reached record highs over the last five years.
Thus, at the end of 2024, the EAEU countries produced 160.9 million tons of grain - this is 10.9 million tons less than in 2023 and 29.7 million tons less than in 2022. In the last five years, less grain was harvested only in 2021 (146.7 million tons), making the 2024 results among the weakest in the period under review.
In contrast to the grain sector, milk and hen's egg production shows positive dynamics. In 2024, 48.8 million tons of milk were produced, while chicken egg production reached 56.2 billion eggs. Both figures were record highs over the last five years.
If we recalculate the production figures for each resident of the EAEU, in 2024 per person was:
