The management of the Sapat network of educational institutions has been transferred to Maarif Foundation

A meeting was held at the Presidential Administration between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov and Director of the Maarif International Foundation's Representative Office Hüsniu Birjan. At the meeting, Edil Baisalov announced the decision to transfer the management of the Sapat network of educational institutions to the Maarif Foundation.

This decision is dictated by the desire to ensure the best interests of pupils and students of the country, as well as, given the well-deserved reputation of the Foundation as a reliable partner in the field of education, to help in their development.

Edil Baisalov noted that the Maarif Foundation has demonstrated a high level of educational standards that meet both national and international requirements over the five years of its work in Kyrgyzstan. The transfer of the Sapat school networks to the Maarif Foundation should, he said, improve the educational environment and promote student development, while respecting the law and protecting labour collectives, as well as ensuring a continuous learning process. The director of the foundation's representative office, Hyusniu Birzhan, confirmed the foundation's intention to invest in the development of Kyrgyzstan's educational infrastructure in the coming months. This includes expanding the network of schools, introducing modern technologies and curricula, as well as new educational opportunities for students. These measures are aimed at strengthening Kyrgyz-Turkish co-operation in education and contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

The Turkish Maarif Foundation (Türkiye Maarif Vakfı) is a state organisation under the Turkish Ministry of Education that aims to manage educational institutions around the world, from kindergartens to universities, and to promote cultural exchange and dissemination of quality education based on European and Anatolian values and traditions.

In Kyrgyzstan, the foundation has been actively developing its activities since 2021, when the foundation's first school opened in Bishkek on an 11,000 square metre campus with 61 classrooms. Education is conducted according to Kyrgyz and Turkish state standards in several languages, including Kyrgyz, Turkish and Russian, with a focus on English. Emphasis is placed on natural sciences, humanities, modern technology and culture.
