On 25 April, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce hosted the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Preparing Amendments to the Tax Code. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Iskender Asylkulov.

The working group consists of six members of the Jogorku Kenesh, 25 representatives of state agencies and more than 30 participants from the business community. The aim of the initiative is to modernise the tax system in line with current economic conditions.

At the meeting, participants discussed the tasks of the upcoming reforms and principles of cooperation, approved an action plan and distributed areas of work. The working group will serve as a platform for dialogue between business, parliament and government agencies. It is expected that changes to tax legislation will contribute to the creation of a more transparent and sustainable system that supports the development of entrepreneurship
