    In Bishkek, issues of protecting the rights of vulnerable categories of children were discussed

    Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Ravshanbek Sabirov held a meeting with the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kyrgyzstan Samman Jung Tapa. At the meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude to UNICEF for its support in the implementation of projects aimed at increasing the effectiveness of social work and developing measures to support certain categories of the population.

    Particular attention was paid to joint activities in the field of protecting the rights and interests of vulnerable categories of children.

    The Minister emphasized that joint work with UNICEF will only strengthen, and also shared new initiatives of the department. Among the priorities, he noted the improvement of the legislative framework for the protection of children and the creation of a sustainable system for supporting children's rights in order to provide each child with a safe environment.

    Ravshanbek Sabirov pointed out the lack of financial and human resources at the district level and spoke about the Decree "On social workers for social support of children" signed by President Sadyr Japarov, which provides state protection for children.

    According to the decree, the staff of social workers is set at 550 units - one worker for every 4 thousand children. The regional offices of the ministry have child protection departments with 198 specialists across the country. Currently, over 800 social workers provide home assistance to more than 9 thousand senior citizens, married couples and people with disabilities.

    Samman Jung Thapa emphasized the importance of the government's efforts and the positive results of joint work in the field of social protection of vulnerable groups of the population.
