10/21/2024, 08:30The Eurasian Economic Commission Council has approved Russia's proposal to expand the list of light industry goods subject to mandatory labelling with identification means. It has been decided to amend the EAEU's regulatory documents.
Now mandatory labelling applies to children's clothing, swimming costumes, neckties, children's and women's underwear, and headwear. In respect of these goods, the EAEU countries have the right to establish a ban on the circulation of unlabelled products from 1 March 2025.
‘The gradual inclusion of new goods is the development of a common labelling system of the Union, allowing the consumer to make sure of the authenticity of products and increasing the competitiveness of bona fide market participants by reducing illegal turnover,’ EEC Trade Minister Andrei Slepnev said.
He stressed that the labelling of new groups of goods will be carried out, as before, according to unified rules. The provisions of the basic technological organisational model of the system of marking goods with means of identification in the EAEU are accounted for. Thus, mutual recognition of labelling codes will be ensured, which will eliminate the need to relabel goods when they are circulated in the territory of the Association.
