In November 2024, it became known that according to the revised data, Kyrgyzstan's GDP in 2023 amounted to more than 1.3 trillion soms. This figure was 104.8 billion KGS higher than the preliminary estimate. As a result, GDP growth for 2023 relative to 2022 amounted to 9%, not 6.2%, as previously reported.
The data on regional contribution to the country's economy attracted special attention. According to official information, Bishkek remains the main economic center of Kyrgyzstan, forming 44.6% of GDP, or 595.3 billion KGS. This result exceeds the total economic indicators of most other regions.
However, among regions other than the capital, significant economic contribution is observed in Chui oblast (183.4 billion KGS), Jalal-Abad (144.6 billion KGS) and Issyk-Kul (118.8 billion KGS) oblasts. The smallest contribution to the economy was made by Naryn (33.4 billion KGS), Talas (41.1 billion KGS) and Batken (45.6 billion KGS) oblasts.
All regions, except Issyk-Kul oblast, demonstrated production growth. The largest increase was recorded in Chui oblast (+12.3%), followed by Naryn (+11.5%) and Talas (+7.6%) oblasts. In contrast, Issyk-Kul oblast showed a decrease of 8.6%.
As for the cities, the greatest growth was shown by Osh, where the volume of production increased by 16.4%. For comparison, in Bishkek the growth amounted to 12.6%.
