04/03/2025, 16:22Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev assessed the progress of construction of three major facilities in Bishkek: eco-technological plant, sports complex ‘Alga’ and small arena of the stadium named after D. Omurzakov.
A solid waste processing plant, which will generate electricity, is being built at a landfill in Bishkek. It will process 1,000 tonnes of rubbish per day, which will provide 460 MW of energy. It is promised to be completed in December 2025, but the developer has so far only managed to pour the foundations and build 4 floors.
The 7.4-hectare Alga construction project includes a 3,000-seat football stadium, training fields and a 142-room hotel. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that such facilities should be available to every resident of the capital. The cost of the project has not been disclosed yet, but the construction is in full swing.
He also visited the small arena of the Omurzakov stadium for 5 thousand spectators and multifunctional areas for events. Construction is at the stage of installation works and laying of engineering networks. The construction is expected to be completed in the next two years.
Following the visit, Kasymaliyev gave instructions to the mayor and ministries to strengthen quality control and compliance with deadlines. With the pace of the construction boom, Bishkek could become a comfortable and modern city, but it is important not to lose sight of budget expenditures.
