The exception is no more than 5% of trips per quarter, writes ‘Vlast.kz’ with reference to the antimonopoly regulator.

The indicator of the increasing coefficient of ‘Yandex. Taxi’ does not exceed x3, except for no more than 5% of trips per quarter. This is reported by the Kazakh Internet edition ‘Vlast.kz’ with reference to the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition.

As noted in the AZRC, data on the implementation of antitrust compliance quarterly provided to the agency by the company ‘Yandex. Taxi’, and the compliance itself is not time-limited.

‘The fulfilment of ‘Yandex. Taxi’ fulfilment of its obligations under antitrust compliance is under control of a special monitoring group under the agency. It includes experts from professional communities,’ the agency added.

It is also reported that the agency together with ‘Yandex. Taxi’ is working on the issue of supplementing compliance with measures, but the agency did not specify what kind of measures.

In 2023, the ACPK completed an antitrust investigation against ‘Yandex. Taxi’, and the company was held administratively liable for imposing technical support services for cash register software and for failing to provide information to the antimonopoly authority. At that time, restrictions were introduced on raising the fare above x3 in conditions of maximum demand for taxi services, for example, in bad weather or on public holidays - no more than 5% of trips per quarter can be made above this level.
