Five basin departments will be established in Kyrgyzstan under the Water Resources Service.

In order to implement the basin method of water resources management, the Cabinet of Ministers decides to establish the following state institutions: ‘Talas Basin Water Resources Department’, ‘Chui Basin Water Resources Department’, ‘Issyk-Kul - Tarim Basin Water Resources Department’, ‘Naryn - Syr-Darya Basin Water Resources Department’, and ‘Kara-Darya - Syr-Darya - Amu-Darya Basin Water Resources Department’.

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry will be in charge of the establishment of the Basin Authority, while control over the implementation of the decree is entrusted to the Presidential Decision Enforcement Control Department.
