Today, fines for selling alcohol and tobacco products without being labelled with excise stamps will be doubled. For individuals, fines will increase from 200,000 to 1 million KGS. Penalties for legal entities will also increase from 65,000 to 80,000 KGS.
In addition, the draft law includes tougher penalties for major offences. In case of turnover of products without excise stamps in a particularly huge volume, the perpetrators may be sentenced to imprisonment for 2 to 10 years. In addition, it provides for deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
