Russia will start blocking websites with illegal services for migrants without a trial

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that allows extrajudicial blocking of websites offering illegal migration services. The corresponding document was published on the official website of legal acts.

The register of banned information now includes data containing proposals to organise illegal migration, as well as information on methods of its implementation.

Roskomnadzor will control the blocking of sites. To do this, the agency must receive a decision from the Prosecutor General or his deputy. Such a decision may be issued if materials violating the law are found.
The State Duma passed the bill on 29 October in two readings, with amendments to the Law ‘On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection’.

Earlier, Putin signed a law toughening penalties for organising illegal migration.
