The share of construction in the GDP structure reached 6.6%. The active growth of the sector is explained by the implementation of large infrastructure projects, as well as by the high demand for housing in settlements with a growing level of urbanisation. Construction is particularly intensive in Bishkek and other major cities of the country.
The development of the construction industry has a positive impact on related sectors of the economy, including the production of construction materials, transport services and employment. As a result, there has been an increase in business activity and an increase in the number of people employed in construction.
As of the end of March, the average monthly nominal wage in construction was 39 thousand 456 KGS, which is 16.9% higher than in the same period last year. The growth of wages in the industry contributes to the increase in purchasing power of the population and stimulates the domestic consumer market.
