03/30/2025, 16:28Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade in January 2025 decreased by 18% year-on-year to $983.8 million.
The main decline was recorded in Bishkek (by 14.2%) and Osh (by 34.1%), and the sharpest decline was shown by Talas oblast (-71%). At the same time, Naryn, Batken and Issyk-Kul oblasts showed growth.
Bishkek still accounts for the majority of foreign trade turnover (64.9%), followed by Chui oblast (12.9%) and individuals (10.7%). The decline in trade can be attributed to currency fluctuations, changes in demand and foreign economic factors.
The situation is expected to clear up in the coming months. Trade recovery will depend on market conditions and stability of Kyrgyzstan's main trading partners.
