04/18/2025, 09:52The Japanese side expressed willingness to consider the possibility of adding new areas of employment for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic under the programme ‘Skilled Workers’ (SSW). This became known on April 17, 2025 during the official meeting of the Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshan Sabirov with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan Mr. Nakano H.
The talks took place within the framework of the Kyrgyz delegation's visit to Japan and were devoted to the issues of deepening bilateral cooperation in the spheres of transport, infrastructure, tourism and labour migration. The parties paid special attention to the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on 6 July 2023.
The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for the possibility of employment of citizens in the direction of ‘Business in the field of transport services’ and stressed readiness to register and train candidates who meet the requirements of Japanese employers. Interest was also expressed in expanding the list of professions, including in the areas of hospitality, construction and service.
Japan, in turn, noted the high level of training of Kyrgyz citizens and expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation within the SSW programme.
Both sides confirmed their aspiration to build a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership focused on the long term.
