    A waste utilization plant in Bishkek is planned to be launched in December this year

    Bishkek is preparing to launch the first eco-technological plant, which will not only help solve the problem of waste utilization, but will also become a source of environmentally friendly electricity.

    The construction of the facility, located on the territory of the “Bishkek Sanitary Landfill”, is on schedule, and it is planned that the plant will start operating as early as December 2025.

    To date, the main construction works are approaching the final stage. Thus, the foundations of the administrative building and the main plant have already been poured, concrete structures have been erected up to the 4th floor, more than 1 thousand meters of access road has been laid for convenient transportation of waste and equipment.

    In addition, the laying of 35 thousand cubic meters of gravel has been completed, and the territory for further works has been prepared. A temporary dormitory was built for the workers involved in the construction of the facility.

    Now 230 specialists are working at the site, and all works are carried out in accordance with the approved schedule.

    Recall, the complex will occupy 12 hectares and will include six key zones:

    • unloading hall;
    • garbage pit;
    • boiler zone;
    • flue gas cleaning zone;
    • turbine shop;
    • hydrotechnical zone.

    The construction of an administrative building, office area, chimney and weighing station is also envisaged.

    They promise that already at the first stage the plant will be able to process 1 thousand tons of waste per day, producing 460 MW of electricity per day (180 thousand MW per year). In the future, its capacity will be increased, which will allow processing up to 3 thousand tons of waste per day.
