    Jogorku Kenesh has approved the bill allowing the opening of casinos in hotels with state shares

    Today, 30 October, at a Jogorku Kenesh meeting deputies in three readings adopted amendments to the Law ‘On Gambling Activities in the Kyrgyz Republic’, initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers. 

    The amendments will allow the gambling activities subjects to be located in real estate owned by the state or municipality, and in the premises of enterprises and organisations with state shares.

    The amendments are designed to attract investment, create new jobs and increase tax revenues to the national budget. It was reported earlier that the former Ak-Keme and Dostuk hotels are considered possible locations for casinos.
