Kyrgyzstan's financial sector almost doubled its profit to 85.5 bln KGS

According to the results of 2024, the total income of organizations of the financial sector of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 199 billion soms, which is 1.6 times more compared to 2023. Such data is provided by the National Statistical Committee.

The main part of income - almost 88% or 174.2 billion KGS - was provided by commercial banks. The banking sector also showed significant growth compared to last year, it increased by 66.8 billion KGS.

The remaining 12% of revenues came from pawnshops, microcredit and insurance organizations, credit unions, investment funds and other market participants. Almost all segments showed positive dynamics, except for the category “other organizations”, where a slight decrease in revenue was recorded.

Along with the growth of revenues, expenses also increased. In 2024, the costs of financial sector organizations amounted to 113.1 billion KGS, which is 40% more than in 2023 (81 billion KGS). Nevertheless, the total net profit of the sector almost doubled, reaching 85.5 bln KGS against 43.7 bln KGS a year earlier. Here again, the key role was played by the kombanks.
