Akylbek Zhaparov noted the Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation achievements at the reception in honour of the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China

A reception in honour of the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China was held in Bishkek, attended by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov. In his speech on behalf of President Sadyr Zhaparov and himself, the Head of the Cabinet congratulated China on the anniversary date, noting the country's rich history and unique culture, and the modernization achievements under Deng Xiaoping leadership.

He emphasized the importance of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, which unites more and more countries, and gratitude for the long-standing partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the PRC.

Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the Chinese experience has significant value for Kyrgyzstan in the ongoing economic reforms framework.

"On the way of our economic reforms, having a border of more than a thousand kilometres, we have something to learn from China. I want to recall a good saying by Confucius: “Three paths lead to knowledge: the path of reflection is the most noble path, the path of imitation is the easiest path and the path of experience is the most bitter path”. We have travelled the most difficult path through an era divided between socialism and capitalism, entering a market economy. Now we can learn from the PRC's modernization experience to make the ''leopard leap'' in economic development,” he stated.

The Cabinet head emphasized the last three years, which have been breakthrough years for Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation. In 2023, the volume of trade between the countries reached almost $20 billion, and the Bedel checkpoint opened new opportunities for economic growth.

"I believe that shortly, ‘Bedel’ will become an international transportation and logistics corridor. The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad project is of great importance to us. We have completed the political phase of the project by signing a trilateral intergovernmental agreement. The construction of the railroad will begin soon,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.

Concluding his speech, he expressed hope for further strengthening of friendship and partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the PRC, emphasizing that joint efforts of the two states will create new opportunities for prosperity and development of both peoples.
