Today, 30 January, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Toraga Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu drew attention to the activities of the state enterprise «Kyrgyzpharmacy», noting that it can not fully meet the needs of Kyrgyzstan in medicines.

He also noted that the issue of providing the population with medicines continues to be relevant and acute.

«The government established the state enterprise ‘Kyrgyzpharmacia’ in order to implement the state policy to provide state health care organisations, and subsequently the population with medicines and medical products at the most affordable prices. To date, the enterprise is fully functioning, but faces a number of serious problems in fulfilling its tasks. As a result, the prices of vital and most in-demand medicines have risen significantly, causing concern among the population. In this regard, the executive authorities should pay attention to the situation and consider the prospects of providing opportunities to other enterprises involved in the provision of medicines», — he said.

Toraga added that despite the cancellation of VAT, the prices of medicines have increased.

«The situation can only be resolved through the creation of a competitive environment. Life itself has shown that it is necessary to grant authorisation to other pharmaceutical companies involved in transporting medicines. This is due to the fact that there are a huge number of appeals due to the rise in prices and shortage of medicines», — said Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.
