Kyrgyzstan Enacts Six-Month Ban on Fertilizer Exports Outside EAEU

Kyrgyzstan imposes a temporary ban on exports of mineral fertilisers from the country. This measure will be in effect for six months and applies to shipments outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The ban is aimed at providing the domestic market with necessary fertiliser stocks and stabilising the agro-industrial sector in the face of increased demand.

‘This is due to the need to protect the interests of local farmers and the sustainable development of agriculture. The decision to introduce the restriction was taken after consultations with representatives of the agricultural sector and other stakeholders,’ the document says.
