02/05/2025, 18:00During the state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to China in Beijing, the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Sydykov signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China.
The document is aimed at facilitating group tourist trips between the two countries. This step is aimed at developing the tourism industry, attracting investment and stimulating economic growth in Kyrgyzstan, and allows the People's Republic of China to carry out official organised tourist trips to Kyrgyzstan.
There is also an active development of co-operation between tourism enterprises of both countries with the creation of joint combined tourist routes. In 2024, 127,956 Chinese citizens arrived through Kyrgyzstan's border crossings, up 56 per cent from 70,842 previously in 2023. Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Economy and Commerce has done significant work to strengthen tourism co-operation with China. As a result, Kyrgyzstan has been included in the list of recommended countries for personal trips by tourists from China.
