The maximum dollar depreciation against the ruble in 2025 has been recorded

A smooth but steady decline in the dollar exchange rate is recorded in Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the Central Bank.

The year 2024 for the Russian ruble was not the easiest, it was full of ups and downs, and it ended with a general increase in the dollar rate by 8%. However, 2025 began immediately with a gradual decline. At the end of January, the dollar fell against the ruble by 4.4% to 978107 rubles, but the depreciation of the U.S. currency did not stop there, although on 4 February it seemed a little more and the currency will again break through the mark of 100 rubles (99.9433).

However, for almost ten days, the Russian ruble has been showing stable strengthening. According to the rates set for February 13, the dollar fell by almost 2% to Br94.0485 per day.

According to experts, the ruble has strengthened for four main reasons: reduced demand for foreign currency due to seasonal factors, the recovery of foreign currency earnings after sanctions restrictions, a high key rate, which stimulates carry-trade operations, and stable oil prices, providing an inflow of export earnings.

It should be noted that in Kyrgyzstan, the ruble has appreciated by 16.2% YTD to KGS 0.9153.
